Glenn & Kath

...

If you’ve been in Hastings for any length you’ll know the names on this billing.
Blair is a BRIT Award-winning, card carrying hit songwriter… one of the best most natural performers I’ve ever encountered.
Liane has so many British Jazz Awards, she had to remove her name from contention a few years back… not being over the top when I say that she’s absolutely the most gifted musician I’ve ever seen in the flesh. I’ll be sharing the stage with them all night and trying to keep up.
If that weren’t enough, this is all for a good cause. The musicians are waiving their fees and we hope to raise a substantial sum for our friends and Hastings legends, Glenn & Kath. For decades, these two have invited us into their garden, organised incredible cultural events, and, behind the scenes, they’ve quietly helped families in Hastings with myriad challenges – my family in particular.
They’ve recently been confronted with some challenges and we’re hoping a packed show in The Hall could provide a bit of support in their time of need. Please join us!

Jah Wobble

...

Jah Wobble is an English bassist, singer and composer. He began his incredible career in music as a founding member of Public Image Limited in 1978 with Keith Levene and former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon and quickly became known for his distinctive and trailblazing bass, combining elements of dub, funk and world music. During his time with PiL, he played on the band’s acclaimed albums First Issue and Metal Box and collaborated with Keith Levene on a variety of side project.
As a musician and artist he remains highly influential and continues to make a significant impact on the world of music and beyond, ensuring his status as an original and important figure in the history of the arts. He has stories to tell and recounts them with charm, with humour and with honesty.
“It’s rare to see this level of musicianship, especially from a live performance. Esoteric to the nth degree, tonight’s offering might well be the closest thing to a late Frank Zappa concert, with its perfect blend of wackiness, originality and musical prowess. They are a band that will catch you by the sleeve and drag you into a manic, perplexing environment that you were unlikely to have given permission for, let alone have consciously chosen …” BUZZ MAGAZINE
